An Egyptian Blue-Green Faience Offering Cup for Seti I, New Kingdom, ca. 1550 - 1069 BCE Gaming Pieces and plummet (see EA2372)of blue green glazed faience, the cylindrical form with wide foot and outward turned lip, the exterior stained with offering oil and faded royal rectangular glyph panel for Seti I, that reads: Men Maat Re, loved by Osiris, Lord of Ro setau. Cups of this style were made to commemorate the construction of a building, principally temples, honoring the reigning monarch. They were manufactured on the authorization of pharaoh and were considered a personal
