On top of that, when you sacrifice it, you get tempted by the ring, making it an auto addition to decks that care about the mechanic, or just to at least make something harder to block

Because the Altar exiles the creature that you use to power its recursion, you wont be able to go off with Bloodghast or anything like that, but the ability to use Bone Offering to get the engine going is a nice piece of upside

The commander deck composition flexes with your strategy - the categories stay, the counts shift

I run it in my Chainer Reanimator deck, and I use it as a finisher
